The online application process for enrolment to PhD Programme in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology is closed (at 5PM on February 12, 2014). The applicants may please note the following.

  1. You need not log onto this site any further. Your accounts have been diactivated.
  2. Please do not send any document by email/surface mail at this stage.
  3. A list of applications for which "application fee received" information is confirmed by the bank will be published in the University Website ( shortly (17 February, 2014)as the provisional list of eligible candidates for test/interview.
  4. Only those applicants who have paid the application fee but whose names are not there in the "Payment Received" list should email the scanned copy of the pay-in slip to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   5. On the basis of the feedback from the applicants a supplementary "payment received" list will be published in the University website ( 21 February, 2014. The provisional list of eligible candidates together with this supplementary "payment received" list should be treated as the final list of eligible candidates for test/interview.

Online application for enrolment to PhD program in the faculty of Engineering and Technology in the 2nd cycle of 2013-14 will close at 5 pm of February 12, 2014.

Please follow the steps given below to submit your online application for Enrolment  to the PhD Programme (Engineering) at Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur in the second cycle of 2013-14 session. Please note that the information that you may require at this stage is comprehensively provided at this site. Before making any query in person (and/or over phone and/or  mail), go through the available documents.

  1. All the related documents are available in the "PhD Enrolment (Engineering) Documents" linked in the left hand side menu.
  2. Application is accepted through on-line only.
  3. Application fee is not refundable.
  4. Please check the eligibility criteria for application from the brochure before you apply.
  5. Application itself does not guarantee short-listing for test/interview. Each department/school/centre, offering Ph D program, has its own screening procedure.
  6. Read carefully the documents available in this site associated with the "PhD Enrolment (Engineering) Documents" link in the left column.
  7. A list of department/school/centres offering PhD Programme in this cycle is available in the Information Brochure (link) and you are advised to check it carefully to select the department/school/centre and the area for which you wish for enrollment.
  8. Create an account at this portal by following the "Register" link of the left column of this website. For details on how to create an account you may please click here. Remember the username and password of your account. You are to login at this portal using this account for completing the online application process. You would get mails to the email address provided by you during registration. Please be patient if your account is not activated immediately. Take time and try with the correct usename/password.
  9. Before starting to fill up the online application form you should be ready with a  jpeg/gif file containing your recent passport size photograph.
  10. Login at this site, click on the PhD Enrolment (Engg) link in the left column to fill up the online application and submit the form. Follow the instruction coming up during the application process.
  11. After you submit the application form you will be instructed to download a Pay-In-Slip (in pdf format, for Rs. 315/-) created exclusively for that submission. You are to go to any branch of United Bank of India(UBI) in India and deposit the application fee in cash using this pay-in-slip. That is, Print that pay-in-slip in an A4 paper, fill it up (Date, Branch Name, Signature), go to the branch of UBI and deposit the application fee in cash.
  12. Note that an application will be cancelled if the applicant does not deposit the fee using exactly that pay-in-slip which has been generated during application.
  13. If you wish to apply to more than one department/school/centre, create a separate account at this site and submit a separate application using that account for each department/school. Please note that for each application you have to deposit Rs. 315/- using the corresponding pay-in-slip.
  14. Once you have deposited the application fee, application process is over.
  15. Please note that at this stage you do not have to send any document to the University. All certificates and testimonials will be verified at a later stage.
